We believe in being authentic about the real costs of growing new rainforest. Growing a tropical tree requires constant chopping by hand of all regenerating secondary vegetation. We have to chop regularly around the trees or they will die during the first 4 years. We also have to prune the trees at year 5 so the forest will grow robust and huge. Our efforts include paying our tree planters a fair wage for the entire process of caring for the trees for 25 years so both the communities and the trees can thrive! ACCT empowers communities and honors the fact that social and environmental healing goes hand in hand.
